There’s been a lot of burger related chat on Twitter lately amongst my tweeps so a best burger round up is topical. Burgers are one of my absolute favourites of all the foods. The deliciousness of the patty plus the oozing cheese (there has to be cheese) combined with the sauces and other toppings means fast food heaven for me, I just can’t get enough of them. There’s been a bit of a burger explosion in the last few years in Dubai and across much of the rest of the world. Gone are the days when if you wanted a burger you had to choose between MacDonald’s or Burger King. Now restaurants are upping the ante and the choice is a dizzying array of offerings, some better than others. Here are my top picks in Dubai right now
We are normally fairly restrained in our house when it comes to food. During the week we avoid all starchy carbs and try and avoid alcohol. Not only does the latter help the waistline it also stops the feeling of utter exhaustion creeping in by Wednesday (nearly the end of our week as we work Sunday-Thursday in the Gulf). Come the weekend and we’re not nearly as puritanical and quite frankly, we probably end up undoing all the good work we’ve done all week, but hey, you’ve got to relax some time. This is all fine and dandy and we’ve been doing it for a few years now so don’t really notice the lack of bread or sugar during the week however, when it’s Christmas then all bets are off.
A couple of weekends ago The Husband and I popped up to Atlantis to check out the new Gordon Ramsey offering in Dubai, Bread Street Kitchen. Ramsey’s latest restaurant is imported from London as one in a series of laid back, brasserie type dining establishments, the other outlets being Singapore and Hong Kong.
